Redeemed it, but Java Edition still shows no cape? Normal — open for the fix
The cape attaches to your Microsoft account the moment the code is redeemed. Bedrock reads that immediately, which is why it appears there first. Java Edition does not read it the same way: it loads your profile from Mojang’s session service once, when you sign in, and keeps using that copy for the rest of the session. Until it fetches a fresh one it is still showing your profile from before the cape existed.
- Quit Minecraft completely. Returning to the title screen is not enough — the old profile is already loaded.
- Sign out of the launcher and sign back in. This is what forces a fresh profile fetch.
- Start the game and check your cape in skin settings. It also shows on an elytra.
Most people see it within a few minutes; Mojang’s profile cache can hold longer when their services are busy. If minecraft.net shows the cape on your account but Java still does not after a day, tell us — quote your order number and we will look into it.
