Hero Cape
The Hero Cape is the Dungeons loyalty reward that also unlocks in Minecraft Java and Bedrock. The important part is completing the games in order with one Microsoft account.
Hero Cape requirements
Play the original Minecraft Dungeons, then sign in to Minecraft Dungeons II before December 31, 2026. Use the same Microsoft account throughout. Owning a game without playing it is not the sequence described in the promotion.
How to bring the Hero Cape to Java or Bedrock
- Complete the Dungeons I and Dungeons II requirements on the same Microsoft account.
- Confirm that the Hero Cape is available to equip in Dungeons II.
- Sign in to Minecraft Java and/or Bedrock using that same Microsoft account.

Do I need to purchase both games?
Our detailed Hero Cape and Game Pass article includes the official announcement screenshot confirming that playing through Game Pass qualifies. Access costs depend on your subscription, region and offer eligibility; the cape reward itself is not sold as a separate purchase.
Why might the cape not appear?
Check that you used the same account in both Dungeons games, actually played the first game, and received the cape in Dungeons II. Then check which Microsoft account your Java or Bedrock session is using. Buying Deluxe is not an extra requirement for this loyalty reward.
Hero versus Corrupted Creeper
The Hero Cape is earned through the two-game route and has a confirmed Minecraft crossover. Corrupted Creeper is a different Dungeons II cosmetic obtained through promotional codes. Claiming one of our free codes does not complete the Hero Cape requirements.

Does the Hero Cape unlock in Minecraft Java and Bedrock?
Yes. First unlock it in Dungeons II, then sign in to Java or Bedrock on the same Microsoft account.
Does the Hero Cape require Deluxe Edition?
No. The Hero reward follows the two-game loyalty requirements, rather than the Deluxe Edition bundle.
